The days passed by and soon karunya had to join Microsoft. The D-day came and it was his first day at office. The new joinees were intimated well in advance about their joining dates, location, vertical and project they would be a part of. It was morning 10'a.m, location Gurgaon, Microsoft office, Dlf towers and about 29 joinees were seated comfortably in the HR conference room for their first day of induction. Out of the 30 new joinees one was still not present and the hr executive on representation was waiting for the last candidate to arrive so that he could start the day.
It was 10:15 a.m, when all 29 joinees sitting in the room, with a sudden knock at the entrance and a feeble,soft voice' may I come in, please' shifted all their attention to the door.
There came inside a beautiful female with a white attire and 'no', said karunya in low voice, shocked and surprised at the same time. The girl was 'Aaasma'.
The hr executive started his presentation, taking them through the history of Microsoft as a company, it's arrival in India, performance,results and so on. Karunya was sitting on the fourth row and about two rows behind 'Aaasma' in a diagonal view with each other. Though karunya had known by now that she has also joined Microsoft but she had no idea about someone like karunya could also be there.
Karunya wanted her to notice him. So when the presenter gave an opportunity to speak up, karunya took the first plunge to answer . This made 'Aaasma' take notice of him and she was equally surprised to see him here. But before karunya could take his place and have a glare at her, she looked the other way, as if she sensed, he would look at her.
The batch broke -off for lunch, but during the entire lunch period, both of them avoided to come near to each other. Karunya and Aaasma, were both confused and so fudged that though they wanted to resist from talking to each other, but were finding it really hard. Both sensed a kind of bonding as if a magnet is attracting them.(....to continue)
