Karunya was waiting at the New Delhi railway station for his brother who was coming home after three years. His brother was an Indian Army Officer, a Major by rank and was posted for 3 years in Kazakasthan, a part of UN peace keeping force.
While sitting on the bench at the station , he saw a familiar face de-boarding from another train on the adjacent platform. He was so quick in his reflexes, that he shrieked out " Aasma". The lady in her ebony white attire turned back to see the person who called at her. She was not able to recognize any familiar face and so was surprised at the same time, that who is that who knows her by her name.
When Karunya stood up and walked towards her, she tried to recall who could be this gentleman. By that time karunya had almost reached her and asked, " Are you Aasma"
She said " Yeah, I am. But who are you. Sorry but i am unable to recall"
Karunya stood still, unable to explain her, how and why did he call her and how the hell did he know 'her name'. He was lost in his thoughts when she interrupted " Excuse me..Mr...Do I Know you or by any chance Do you know me?
He was confused and in a jitter, he said " I am sorry Maam, but i really do not know how did this happen. I felt i have known you for years, but in reality i do not know anyone in my knowledge by the name of 'Aasma'.
'what !are you nuts? Don't try to fool me, how is this possible. Please don't try tricks on me, i know your kind of people. Whatever ! please excuse me, i have to leave", said Aasma. She left the station and karunya kept looking at her till her tiniest of image was visible from where he was standing.
Meanwhile an announcement was made about the train his brother was supposed to come in. Soon the train neared the platform, screeched and stopped. He saw his brother Major Varunya Singh, getting down his coach. A well built , tall, handsome officer with aviator glasses on which made him look all the more dashing.
Karunya assisted his elder brother pick the bags and put them in the trolley and they moved towards the car parking area. They soon reached their home at Saket near PVR Cinema hall, where karunya had spend a lot of years bunking his classes and watching movies.
Karunya was the younger of the two brothers. His parents and his sister-in-law and the children and his sister Tirinya stayed together. As soon as varunya reached the door steps of their home, tapan came rushing and with excitement started shouting ' Daddy , Daddy is home. Hearing this their parents came out to welcome their son, whom they were seeing after a long gap of 3 years. Preeti , seeing her husband after such a long time was all in tears but at the same time was very happy.
They had their lunch together, discussing the latest happenings and development at home. The recent graduation of Karunya from IIT delhi, Tirinya getting into NIFT, the premier fashion college and above all , karunya getting placed with Microsoft at Gurgaon as a software engineer with a handsome salary package. Amidst all these discussions Karunya was time and again getting lost and was thinking about the strange incident which happened at the railway station.( to continue......
